Despite visiting Changi Airport many times my whole life (and perhaps at least twice a year), I was pretty much unaware of the awesomeness of the Transit Hall.
I do know that there are places like the Butterfly Garden (which I have never visited) and some entertainment area with movie screening but do you know that Spa Services are available in the Airport as well?
If you have never visited the Transit area of Level 3 (in Terminal 2), do pay a visit on your next trip! Apart from having food options like McDonalds, Subway and Food Court, it has a quiet resting area (under iConnect) and also an entertainment area which screens movie. There’s even a transit hotel available at the other side!
Anyway, for my recent trip to Taiwan, I was invited for a spa session at SPA EXPRESS (Terminal 2, Level 3), before taking my flight.
SPA EXPRESS is a full-fledged day spa where you can rejuvenate and be ready for a long onward flight or even refresh upon arrival to be ready for your day in Singapore.
There is a wide array of spa experiences and the facilities even include a meditation room, infrared sauna and luxurious showers.
The spa mainly targets passengers on transit so most of their customers will be on walk-in basis. However, you can also reserve a session before or after your flight.
They have shower facilities available too, allowing you to freshen up before you next flight or to start your day.
SPA EXPRESS not only offer ‘Express Services’ (from 20 mins), it also offers full-fledged day spa services including 90 mins Deep Tissue Massage and various Facial Treatments. Other services include foot reflexology, head/shoulder/back massage, aroma/charcoal/coconut body massage and salt and spice/coffee orange scrub.
There are 3 private rooms, shower and sauna facilities available.
I did a 60 minute ‘Jet Lag Special’ which was a combination of upper back and foot reflexology massage.
As private rooms were available, I get to decide if I wanted to have the massage outside or inside the room (and of course I opted for the room).
As the air-conditioning in the airport is usually too cold, the massage beds are equipped with “warmers” to keep your body warm and calm throughout the massage. It was my first time doing a massage on a warm bed and it was indeed very comfortable!
Spa Express is managed by Heaven on Earth, an international multi-brand wellness organization headquartered in Mumbai (India). The style of massage was not something that I was familiar with but the session I had was still pretty relaxing and enjoyable. I enjoyed the ambience of the spa a lot. The decor and furnishing was quite pleasing and it was very comfortable to just sit down and rest, away from the crowded boarding gates.

Thanks for the great spa recommendation. My husband and I tried the deep tissue massage on a 5 hour layover and loved it with the private shower. Made the next 12hr leg bearable.
Hey! thanks for leaving a comment. Glad that you enjoyed the massage and your layover at Changi Airport =)
