Notice: Dear reader, please note that most of the photos in my blog are currently not available.  They are currently held hostage by Photobucket (which requires me to pay $399USD/year). I am in the process of re-uploading the images on a different host and this will take some time. If you have any burning questions about my post, feel free to leave a comment. Sorry for the inconveniences caused!

This week was really dry as I had no off days at all. starting from 28th May, I worked everyday through 8th June. Not because I had an off day on the 9th, but because it rain so we didn’t have to work. This place is by the beach, thus when the weather forecast says that it will rain, no one in the right mind will go to the beach. Thus, when there is no one, they close very very early. Till week 5, there was still no off day, but it rained again on the wednesday, 16th May. So, in fact i still had unofficial off day.
What’s interesting about this whole thing is that, after 40 hours, we are paid OT and that is x1.5 of our normal pay. and by working more hours, we get more tips.

so i guess it will just be random photos here and there.

5th June 2010

We finally visited OB diner. the diner that locals have been telling us about. 24 hours, with huge portions and relatively decent food. it was a good 20 mins walk or more. it’s really far. but along the way you get to see pretty houses. As long as the sun isn’t too terrible. the walk would be fine.
seriously the houses look exactly like sims. haha i’m living in pleasant ville. i’ve been playing sims2 lately. maybe that’s why. haha.

So i guess diners come with the standard chairs and lights.

true blue american diner. kind of billy bombers style in a way.
this was their appetizer. pickles with salad.

being very hungry, we ordered one set each.

you will be crazy if you can finish the whole thing. obviously we gave up, and ate half, and brought the other half back for dinner. i think it was around $11-12 for a meal like that. it’s insane. i have no idea how anyone can stuff that much food into their stomach.

random lunch/dinner.
everything taste good with maggi seasoning and kikoman soya sauce. lol.

we had a mega combined dinner on 8th June where we invited the Thais over. It was really a large scale and it took a lot of preparation work and I think we ate only at 10pm? gosh. but the food was great.

there were so so so so so many dishes 🙂

on another random day, the fire alarm rang, and it took us quite some time to figure out how to off the alarm and the next moment, we saw,

fire engines outside the house.

and it turned out to be the other half of the house, were cooking and they did not open their windows. and the smoke activated the fire alarm. gosh they were really efficient. we pay so much for taxes. i guess. but they came over and gave us a warning that we should open all doors and windows when we cook. but you know how embarrassing it was to see like 2 fire engines and 1 police care outside your house. so many people were activated to a false alarm =/ oh wells.

12th June 2010, Saturday

we went to brick plaza to watch sex and the city 2. the movie was $5 for a morning show. it was free seating in the theater. it wasn’t anything good. the chairs were shaky and we try to keep our eyes only on the screen because we wouldn’t want to freak ourselves out by looking elsewhere =/ and we entered the cinema, without anyone checking our tickets. meaning, you could just watch the movie for free. it was really empty. it’s a saturday morning after all.
as i refuse to post my own photos, haha. my friends have to be featured in my entries 😀

after the movie, we went to the awesome dollar shop to stock up on all the necessary sweets and chocolates and chips and everything unhealthy. and we went over for the east buffet once more!
had to take a taxi back as we were rushing for work.

i shall continue with my random food
this was my failed attempt of my japanese egg. it taste great actually. had to add milk and custard sugar i think. to make the japanese style egg.

with the awesome sambal chilli sauce i brought. everything just tastes great with that. lol. no matter how bland my rice was.

judging from the looks of this, obviously it was not prepared by me. LOL.

random boardwalk moments.

yea this is the shop i was working in. omg. who was she staring at?

by the way, all the toys are MIC. made in china. and so we travel halfway round the world to win toys that are MIC. hmm.

during this period, world cup also started. and i tried to watch as many matches as I could. well, we had a small TV at home but that was sufficient enough for me to spy on torres. a pity he didn’t perform up to expectations.

okay and i will be moving on to week 6 where i did have a planned off day.
